AUXSEA - Auxiliary Seamanship Specialty course. Presented by Ninth Western District (9WR) Instructors.

AUXSEA is designed to present the Auxiliarist with a thorough knowledge of vessels and proficiency in their operation. An AUXSEA Specialist has extensive knowledge of how vessels are constructed and operated, understands marine engines, how to perform minor repairs, is knowledgeable about vessel handling and knows how to approach distress situations. The AUXSEA course is one of the required courses for the Operational Auxiliarist (AUXOP) designation. Visit the AUXSEA website for more information and course materials, here.

The course materials are presented at a slow and steady pace, making it easy to soak up the information to pass the exam. Students in the 2021 AUXSEA session had a lot of fun and laughed as they learned -- 36 students had a 95% success rate on the exam. The last session will include a final review of the course material.
