Aids to Navigation (ATON) Verifier Performance Qualification Standard (PQS), Part 1 of 2 - Training: This session is designed to guide members through completing nearly all of the requirements to become qualified as an ATON Verifier.
Attendees must download, print, and bring a hard copy of the Auxiliary Aids to Navigation Program Handbook (16500.16, March 2024) to the training session in order to obtain signoffs. (Click here to access handbook.) Hard copies will not be provided. Members are strongly encouraged to study the program handbook prior to D-Train to enable a better understanding of the material during this accelerated training session.
In order to achieve all PQS sign-offs (except for the hands-on verifications), members must complete the following prerequisites and ensure they are reflected in AuxData II:
* Core Training must be completed and current (Certified)
* Member Status must be BQ or AX
* Intro to Risk Management (100202) course completed
* Risk Management/Team Coordination Training (RM/TCT) must be completed and current.
* FEMA IS-100 and IS-700 completed
NOTE: Members are invited to attend this training session without all of the above items completed, however, they will not obtain the relevant signoffs in their PQS booklet.
Oral Boards will be conducted immediately following this training session -- interested members must register separately for ATON Verifier PQS, Part 2 of 2: Oral Boards.
This session will be held in the Grand Ballroom II conference room.
